Appointments and Referring Provider Information

Patients enter the UW Health pain management program only through referral by a health care professional. Staff communicate with referring physicians, nurses and other caregivers when the patient's initial assessment is complete and again as treatment progresses.

 

Referring professionals will also receive thorough information on the patient's continuing plan of care when the patient is deemed stable for discharge. The referring physician or nurse is considered a member of the patient’s care team and is thus always encouraged to consult with the Pain Center staff on issues that arise during treatment or follow-up.
