Pain and Headache Clinics: Getting Ready For Your Visit

At the Pain and Headache Clinics, UW Health pain management specialists work in close partnership with our patients to help improve their quality of life, physical function, comfort and independence.
 
Your health care provider has asked you to visit us at the UW Health Pain Clinic or Headache Clinic. Our goals are to help you function better and to help you live with less pain. 

Use the following steps to prepare for your visit to the Pain Clinic or Headache Clinic.

Complete an orientation session 
There are two ways to complete your orientation:

(1) Watch the orientation video online, then print out and complete the short quiz (pdf). You can find the videos on this page. Bring in the quiz as proof that you have watched the video.

(2) Come early for your first appointment to watch the video. The video is 25 minutes long. You can arrange this through the clinic at (608) 263-9550. 

 You will be shown an orientation video before you see the doctor at your first visit. You will also have time to talk to a nurse and ask any questions you might have before the visit.

Arriving for Your Visit

 

Please arrive early. Please come at least 20 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time to leave time for registration. This speeds up your check-in and makes it more likely you will be seen on time. Please make this a habit for every visit.
