Tyler's Place and American Family Children's Hospital Celebrate National Sibling Day
The Department of Patient and Family Services' Child Life program at American Family Children's Hospital recently hosted a celebration in honor of National Sibling Day, a day to appreciate and cherish brothers and sisters everywhere.
Patient and Family Services sent out invitations to the siblings of past Children's Hospital patients and their parents. Eight siblings (three that were siblings of American Family Children's Hospital inpatients that day) attended, as did 10 parents and one former patient.
The theme of the night was Hollywood, and some of the children in attendance dressed up as though attending the premiere of Johnny Depp's latest movie. The Positive Image Center lent a hand with nails and makeup, and after completing their ensembles the kids walked a red carpet and posed for pictures by the faux-papparrazi while their parents enjoyed pizza, movies and conversation nearby.
Everybody got to participate in a raffle and play Bingo, and the night ended with an award ceremony during which the children received a clapboard frame for their pictures, an American Family Children's Hospital Star Sibling button and a Star Sibling Award trophy.
The pictures below were taken at the event in celebration of National Sibling Day.
