Kids Helping Kids
The Kids Helping Kids program celebrates and empowers kids, tweens and teens interested in helping patients and families at American Family Children's Hospital. Started in 2004 in response to growing interest from local teachers and students to help patients, Kids Helping Kids continues to be inspired by generous gifts from school-aged children from all over Wisconsin. Time and again, young people have organized events - from change challenges to basketball tournaments - to raise money for American Family Children's Hospital.- Cultivate philanthropic efforts, leadership and organizational skills in young people
- Encourage school spirit, teamwork and positive relations between students, parents, faculty and the community
- Sponsor community spirit between youth, businesses, UW Health staff, patients and families
- Support programs which save lives and enhance quality of life for American Family Children’s patients and families
Peter Pan Birthday Club: Become a club member by throwing your own Peter Pan Birthday Party. Rather than receive gifts, kids ask for monetary donations to the Children's Hospital.
Change Harvest: Organize a "Change Challenge" for your school or class with a goal of scoring the most points at the end of the game, typically lasting for one week. Classes, grades or teachers and students can compete against one another to see who can reach the highest score.
Caps for the Cure: Organize a Caps Day at your school – students get to wear a hat to school by donating to your fundraising effort, typically lasting for one day.
