Fireplace Dangers
UW Health burn surgeon Lee Faucher, MD, sees between 15 and 20 children each year who are burned when they place their palms on glass fireplace doors. Most of the patients are beginning walkers who do not have the strength to move themselves away. Parents Kiera and Nick understand the danger.
