Quality Reports: Core Biopsy Prior to Breast Cancer Surgery
The UW Health Breast Center is committed to helping all patients improve their breast health at all stages of life.
Core Biopsy Prior to Surgery
Our surgeons often perform core biopsies prior to surgery for breast cancer for patients. Core biopsies withdraw a small sample of tissue, which doctors then confirm to confirm the cancer diagnosis.
Our Quality Measures
The table below displays the percentage of patients presenting with AJCC stage group 0, I, II, or III disease who, prior to breast cancer surgery, undergo a needle biopsy to establish diagnosis of cancer.
