Horse Stance Exercise
UW Health Integrative Medicine Mindfulness instructor Kristi Rietz, OTR, demonstrates a practical Tai Chi exercise called, "Horse Stance." This exercise is intended to help support your well being by encouraging you to become aware of your body and how it feels.
Consider all of the daily places you can practice Horse Stance, such as standing in line at the store, brushing your teeth at night, getting gas in the car and even interacting with others. As you continue to practice this exercise, the intention is to become more aware of how you feel over time. When you experience stressful situations, hopefully you will be able to draw on your awareness to feel how stress is affecting your body.
