Margaret M. Van Bree is Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics.She has oversight of the operations of Nursing and Patient Care Services, Ambulatory Operations, Human Resources, Facilities, the American Family Children’s Hospital, Professional and Support Services, the Transplant service line, and Quality and Satisfaction.
A Wisconsin native, Dr. Van Bree most recently served as Chief Operations Officer at the University of Virginia Health System, where she was responsible for key clinical and support programs, development of the University of Virginia Children’s Hospital and focusing the institution on quality initiatives. Dr. Van Bree was also a Professor of Medical Education in the School of Medicine. She has taught in the areas of health care management and quality improvement both domestically and internationally.
Dr. Van Bree graduated from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse. She received her Master's of Hospital Administration from the University of Minnesota and a Doctor of Public Health in Health Systems Management from Tulane University. Her career includes executive appointments at the University of Cincinnati, Tulane University Hospital and Clinic and the University of Minnesota Medical Center-Fairview. |
