Renee Rizzo was appointed Vice President of Finance/Controller at UW Hospital and Clinics in March 2005. Before that, she served for five years as Director of Finance/Controller and from 1998 to 2000 as Assistant Director of Finance.Renee provides operational and strategic leadership in financial reporting, bond covenant compliance, long-range financial planning, preparation and monitoring of operating and capital budgets, Medicare and Medicaid cost reporting, treasury functions and payroll processing and reporting. She is also a key contact in bond issuance or refundings and rating agency reviews.
In her role, she directs the following Fiscal functions: general accounting, treasury, accounts payable, budget, governmental reimbursement and payroll.
Prior to 1998, she held the position of Director of Internal Audit at UW Hospital and Clinics for nine years. Before joining the organization, Renee spent six years in public accounting with KPMG, Peat Marwick, specializing in health care audits.
Renee holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from the University of Central Florida and is a Certified Public Accountant.
