Dr. Christopher Green
Senior Vice President, Medical Affairs, and Associate Chief Medical Officer, University Hospital
Dr. Christopher Green assumed the role of Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs and Chief Medical Officer in April 2012.
Dr. Green began his association with UW Health in 1977 during his Residency with the University of Wisconsin's Department of Pediatrics. After a fellowship at Case Western University, he began his professional work as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin.
Dr. Green rose to full Professor of Pediatrics in 1993 and then Associate Chair for Clinical Affairs in the Department of Pediatrics in 1997. While serving as Vice Chair of the Department of Pediatrics, Dr. Green accepted the position of Medical Director of American Family Children's Hospital in 2006 and continued in that position until 2011.
His work at American Family Children's Hospital has been remarkable and the hospital's ranking in the list of best children's hospitals by U.S. News and World Report is testament to his leadership.
Dr. Green has received numerous professional honors including listings of best doctors. He is published in dozens of journals, chapters and abstracts. His professional associations include organizations and initiatives focused on patient-centered care, quality and medical education. His medical specialty is pediatric pulmonology.
Dr. Green earned his medical degree at the University of Rochester, Rochester, N.Y., and is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric pulmonology.
